Group I.T. Director Major Banking Group in East Africa

A major retail banking group in East Africa required a Group Head of I.T. to oversee the implementation of digitisation of the  entire bank across East Africa and expansion into new territories . The role also required the candidate to significantly increase the capacity of the I.T. department to manage risk and cyber-security, to significantly increase resilience and  the capacity of individuals to manage enterprise  level projects across the branch networks and digital bank. The mandate was time critical  due to the departure of the out-going I.T. Director to take up another role. The brief required a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills,  recognised academic achievement and proven track-record in delivering varied and complex bank  I.T. infrastructure at a Tier 1 retail bank with an international foot-print.

The opportunity was identified by Agnos Consulting and assigned to a Managing Director and a Director at DQ Associates. Candidates were short-listed and within 10 days  arrived in Africa to attend a series of meetings and interviews with the Group MD  and several board members following interviews with DQ and  telephone interviews.  The successful candidate was subsequently offered the role and contractual terms were agreed with the individual starting in March. The whole process took 6 weeks from start to finish.
